Parallels Access App Reviews

Problems with latest release

Suddenly I iPad keyboard wont work and makes the app worthless. No help from support. Also iPad thinks my version is out of date when it isnt.

Cannot Wake-up MacBook Pro

Prior versions worked flawlessly & were deserving of a full 5 stars. As others have reported, Parallels Access can no longer awake my Mac from "power napping" - while on local network and remotely. Support closed my trouble ticket, and escalated to the developers; leads me to believe this is known issue. Anxiously awaiting a software update.

Security Risk

Parallels Access will punch open HUNDREDS of firewall exceptions on your router, basically leaving your mac exposed. It has been an issue for awhile (check their forums) and Parallel appears unable to resolve. I would recommend researching before using this application any further. I just uninstalled it from my Mac.

Great App but needs improvement

I am just wondering why the iPad App can connect OK without a password for the pd user but asks for a password when trying to connect via the web. Couple of other things that need to be addressed are: I am using an iPad Pro with the smart keyboard And if I remain connected to the host computer and switch back to the iPad then command/tab back to the Access App it loses the connection to the keyboard and will not bring up the on screen keyboard either. If you disconnect and re-attach the keyboard or close and re-open the remote control connection they the smart keyboard is restored. Also I am connecting to a Mac Mini with latest OSX release and Latest Parallels Desktop and Access updates. When using a windows application like Quicken I have to switch to the mouse pointer otherwise the Copy, Paste etc pop up stays up all the time. None of these are big issues, just irritating and thought they would like to know and try to correct them. Hopefully someone from support reads the reviews. Overall it is a great app and I am confident it will continue to improve with updates. I plan on renewing as I feel it is better than Logmein or TeamViewer for my needs.

Lack of iPad Pro support is very frustrating

Without iPad Pro support, this app is very difficult to use on a bigger screen. I tried contacting support about it and they seemed to not understand the issue, instead filing it as a bug they couldnt reproduce. Hope that doesnt represent the companys understanding.

When it works its fine

Product support could not help when this program suddenly quit working on my Windows 10 machine. It worked fine on the Mac. They said they didnt know how to fix the problem and if they ever found the problem answer they would let me know, but basically dont hold your breath. Ive gone back to Team viewer.

Lacking iPad Pro Support

Come on, guys! Access is a paid business service and you guys dont support the most business oriented iPad?!

Used to be better

When this worked, it was fine. Then something happened (either update from Parallels or some other issue) and the quality and performance was horrible (nothing changed on my network). In addition, there have been no new features in quite a while. I pay quite a bit of money for my subscription, but all my requests for assistance have gone unanswered. In addition, there is absolutely no support for the iPad Pro 12.9", it still uses old style keyboard and resolutions. Also, most Adobe apps, especially Dreamweaver, do not work properly when accessed via parallels (although they work fine when accessed by VNC apps). Unless I see an update, I will most likely not renew
