Parallels Access App Reviews

Laptops=things of the past

This is so good that my next purchase would likely be a desktop, to get maximum power in the remote machine, as portability is looked after with Parallels Access. This thing has the potential to revolutionize how we use these things and what equipment to buy

Other options out there ...

They have come a long way from a lousy App to something so much better. However, now they want an ongoing subscription which is understandable as they need $$ to stay in business.... but there are also other options perhaps much better and certianly MUCH more affordable. If you feel like Parallels desktop is worth it and better than VMware, then its subscription covers this App too. Otherwise, VMware Fusion + Screens Connect are perfect solutions for all your remote connectivity pleasure.

Nice.

Ok -- I cant believe it took 9 months to get support for iPad Pro keyboard and 12.9" screen resolution. But, that said, with those two improvements this app really extends the power of my iPad Pro in a pretty fundamental way. I use as my (principal) gui desktop for a Mac mini server hosted with macminicolo.net which provides "virtual monitor hardware" using a unique piece of HDMI graphics interface hardware. I really have a pleasant experience with this, that is both fast and not at all awkward on my iPad. Ive tried a few alternatives -- honestly, Ive had enough hassles dealing with Parallels (if you ever need support...). But, in a completely objective sense, some of the leading competitors are at least an order of magnitude slower (screens, Im looking at you...). So, thanks for the recent iPad Pro upgrade, Parallels. Im still a little bitter about the 9 month wait, but I thought Id express that Im happy with the result and share my positive experience with an App Store review.

Please fix typing Korean.

After recent few updates, Korean words are typed decomposed. please check this issue....

Rip Off

Read the Mac World review of this App and decided to kick its tires. Kluge to install and when I tried to use the App, it wanted a $100 annual subscription vs. the $20 mentioned in the review. The one star is for their outrageous scam - not recommended and Idont look forward to getting this kluge off my devices

Very good app

This is a very good app. I use it to remotely connect to my work iMac from my iPad Pro. It allows me to use professional software that is not available on the iPad Pro. I have also tried Microsoft Remote Desktop (to connect to my work Windows machine), and TeamViewer, and Screens. I think Parallels Access beats the others. One bug bothers me: While keyboard shortcuts work pretty well in general, there is a minor bug if I use the Command key together with numbers on my iPad Pro SmartKeyboard. For example, if I type Cmd+1, it is mapped to Cmd+2. Please fix that!

Excellent for Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil

Reasonably priced and works well especially with great right click functionality for the Apple Pencil. Also supports the Apple Smart Keyboard. Very impressed with Parallels products so far.

?

Sign in? $ subscriptions? ...ridiculous❣Capitalistic greed run amuck...wake up people.

Klutzy

This app does not hold a candle to LogMeIn. It works OK if I am relatively nearby my retina MacBook Pro, but otherwise is slow and doesnt offer the smooth operation as does LogMeIn. I will possibly try to take another run at it but, it is more likely that I will not renew this app.

Works like a charm

As I have a Parallels Pro subscription, Access in included and I have found it much easier to use than similar apps such as LogMeIn and Teamviewer.

No login to Sierra!

I cannot login now. Update broke ability to remote login from any of my ios10 devices to my MacBook. Worked great until now.

Great App but problems with iTunes

App has problems with drop down menus in iTunes 12. The latest release is better however still needs work. When trying to use "Up Next" or any other drop down menu for that matter it will not open and remain open. It opens and immediately closes. It will sometimes eventually stay open however mostly just crashes iTunes.

App is getting... slow

Accessing is now getting very, very laggy. Close to unusable. Oh well.

Great Interface — unreliable wake up of remote pc

I am very pleased with the interface for interacting with my mac book pro remotely. There are many features of the interface that facilitate using the touch keyboard and other touch gestures to compensate for the inadequate interface of the laptop. However, it has been difficult to impossible to wake up my laptop over wifi; I have tried every suggestion of the Access documentation, which is hard to find, I have found that the only way to connect is to leave the laptop lid up and even then I have found waking up and connection to take several minutes. I have found the documentation and lack of adequate customer support to be disappointing. I cannot recommend this product whole heartedly until it performs more reliably.

Laggy

Very laggy since upgraded MacBook Air to Sierra. It does not make a difference what network I use. It is pretty much useless to me now....very disappointed that no upgrades have fixed this yet.

Pure trash

This had the potential to be great. This is probably the worst app I have ever used. Ill never buy Parallels again. VMWARE it is. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SERVICE. It doesnt recognize keystrokes, its so laggy its not usable. I cant believe Parallels still hasnt fixed this 2 years later. This is probably why they only charge $20 a year now. This is garbage.

Latest app is broken!

Latest update broke the app! I have the latest version running on my iPhone and my Mac (running Sierra), but the screen goes blank whenever I log into my Mac (right before I was expecting the app to ask for my Mac password).

Parallels Access Trial Expired

I would give customer service zero stars if I could. Owned and used Parallels for many years. Decided to try Parallels Access for the first time. Discovered my trial period had expired even though I had never used Parallels Access. Phone support told me they could do nothing for me. I was told in order to try Parallels Access for more than 5 minutes at a time, I would need to purchase the program. :( BAD. Customer service gets ZERO stars.

Agree with other reviews - update broke the app

Dont waste your money. I have been a loyal customer for years. However, since the latest update, it has been one big headache. When I remote in and the exit, it will not let me back in and shows I am still remoted in from the first session. I have to physically turn off the computer I am remoted into, which defeats the purpose of this app. I contacted customer service and they are trying to blame both of my computers rather than their app.

Great App but needs work on Windows Host problems

Works great with Mac but has problems going from iPad Pro to Windows. Latest release of iTunes Windows freezes and crashes when drop down menu windows are accessed. After a multitude of emails with support I got no where. I submitted all requested numbers several times and explained in detail how to recreate the problem and finally gave up. The latest release of this app does work somewhat better but still has issues.
